It is sheer ignorance that Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was portrayed in a recent Newsweek dated 30 March 2012 showing her beefy muscles. In an issue featuring Pakistan's influential ladies it is chance or lack of understanding on the part of Editorial board of Newsweek that Motharma's image thus created appeared embarrassing to many. Well may be my lack of understanding of modern art - or may be the power of gender that emanates from the muscles rather than ideas or ideologies. What so ever the case is this image I am posting did appear in the print edition and somehow I am unable to comprehend the idea and imagination behind this so-called art work/illustration.
Last words: Novices are perhaps editing one of the most prestigious news-magazines. I wish the artist had portrayed ... a better and more acceptable image.
